Aspen Ladd first began training in combat sports as young as fourteen years old. Aspen Ladd trained in BJJ, kickboxing, boxing and wrestling before making her first appearance as an amateur at WCFC aged 18. Ladd felt more confident following the win and fought 3 fights at Ultimate Reno Combat. Her opponents all fell during the first round. Ladd returned to WCFC and defeated Leslie Rodriguez through a unanimous verdict. Aspen won against Silvia Babaeghian Maddy Simmons and Cynthia Calvillo before facing Cynthia Calvillo in WCFC 9 Cynthia defeated Aspen and defeated her in an unanimous decision. This put the mark of a loss on Aspen's record in her amateur. Ladd rebounded from her loss with a win over Roma Pawelek in Tuff-N'-Uff, which brought her record to 8-1. Aspen became a professional in the year 2015, and was signed by Invicta FC to make her professional debut. Invicta Fc 11 was her first fight. She dominated Ana Carolina Vidal and won the bout in the first round by TKO. Invicta Fighter Championships 16. She took her next bout against Amanda Cooper through a second-round submission by armbar. Aspen's impressive wrestling skills took down McGill as she was able to stop her third round with a TKO (elbows as well as punches). Ladd's first loss came in her next fight against Germaine de Randamie in Ladd's first UFC main event fight. Randamie defeated Ladd after 16 seconds which ended the streak of winning. Yana Knitskaya, in the UFC 7 ESPN 7's final round, was defeated by Randamie. In a match that was a replacement to UFC, Norma Dumont was her opponent. The decision was made unanimously against her.
